Lauren writes smart women rebelling against the systems trying to destroy them - translated into industry speak - "female forward genre." Crime, science fiction, and grounded fantasy are her jam. She's the co-creator of the recently launched anthology sci-fi/horror podcast FEMME FUTURE PERFECT, a Kennedy Center Award winning playwright, and a 2024 Austin Film Festival teleplay finalist. Currently she's developing television projects in the eco-science-fiction and supernatural crime space. She's also an independent theatre artist who's been in residence in Nebraska, New York, and South Carolina where she wrote music, performed, and co-produced multiple projects including a bar-based rock band Shakespeare company and a live local late-night show. Originally a bit of an outsider from Texas, one of her passions is writing the kinds of fierce young women who typically fall through the narrative cracks - bonus points if they're Southern. Her favorite play is THREE SISTERS (Chekhov), thanks for asking. MFA/playwriting: University of Arkansas.

The photos below are from an assortment of other projects I’ve made, some easy to define, others not so much, including: a devised piece about Georgia O’Keeffe that ended by making a giant painting on the floor, a choose-your-own-adventure play, a play in a river, a play set in the future with a big bubble gun, a play whose set was made by a fellow sculptor-in-residence, a play with a video game set in Sparta, podcast episodes I voice directed, and so forth.
